Star Trek Lives!, widely considered the first Star Trek Convention*, was held January 21-23, 1972 at the Statler Hilton in New York City. In 2022, we celebrate this event and its legacy: 50 Years of Boldly Gathering. Here’s to 50 more!
*There was an earlier event called “Star Trek Con” held in March 1969 at the Newark Public Library in Newark, NJ. Some consider this the “real” first convention; others consider it a “lovely afternoon at the library.”
